Video Output Cards

 

Datapath's video output cards are the foundation for constructing a video wall. All of Datapath's graphics cards are equipped to handled up to 4 displays per card, and depending on which output series a user chooses, he/she is able to drive up to 40-64 screens from a single CPU. However before making a selection a user must answer 3 questions:

  1. How many display does the project require?

  2. What resolution will each monitor display at?

  3. How many external video sources (including what format) will need to be displayed across the video wall?

The third question is probably the most important when deciding which model output card will best fits the user's need, because within the both the iH4 and Vantage4 series there is a hierarchy of capabilities that determines how many external video sources can be display across a video wall simotaneously. In addition, the hierarchy of capabilities will also determine which video input card is used in a solutions. Below is a breakdown of both the iH4 and Vantage4 series and the different models that exist within those respective groups.

iH4-SERIES: 4-Port PCI Graphics adapter
  The iH4 range of graphics cards are robust multi-screen graphics adapters providing users with the ability to construct a simple 4-display video wall solution or create a complex multi-screen data wall with multiple external video sources being displayed simotaneously. All iH4 models are capable of outputting VGA or DVI formats and will create one desktop across all connected displays. There are 4-different models within the iH4-Series the most basic version being the iH4(VGA or DVI) and the most advanced the iH4-SIP
   

iH4-VGA (DVI)

 
  • Four port graphics adapter.
  • Four 64bit Savage4-PRO graphics processors each with 16MB of memory (total 64MB).
  • Four DVI outputs, each supporting up to 1280 x 1024 (digital) and 1600 x 1200 (analog).
  • Up to nine iH4 cards can be used to support a maximum of 36 screens from a single PC.
  • Use with the VQS01 to increase the number of display channels to a maximum of 144

iH4-PRO-VGA (DVI)

 

 

In addition to the above iH4 specifications, the iH4-PRO provides high quality video overlays enabling the display of live video sources.

  • Four high quality video overlays (one per screen). Overlays can be sized and positioned anywhere on the wall (only one video overlay per screen).
  • Four composite video or two S-Video inputs using the Video Input Module (VIM) option.
  • Increase the number of video inputs to 16 or 32 by using the Datapath Vision Switch card.
  • Supports PAL, NTSC and SECAM.
  • Up to nine iH4-PRO cards can be used to support a maximum of 36 screens and 36 video overlays from a single PC

iH4-DIG-VGA (DVI)  

The iH4-DIG has all the specifications of the iH4-PRO and in addition:

 

  • Four digital video inputs for connection to the Datapath Mosaic card. The Mosaic card, combined with the iH4-DIG, allows up to nine video overlays per screen. It is possible to connect a maximum of four Mosaic cards to each iH4-DIG.

  •  Add on options: Mosaic, Vision Switch and VIM.

iH4-SIP-VGA (DVI)

 

 

The iH4-SIP provides all the features of the current iH4 range but it also includes 4 high performance video overlay processors. The iH4-SIP provides one overlay processor per display channel combined with 256Mb of overlay memory supporting 16 overlay windows and triple buffering for each output channel. For systems that require more than 4 displays up to 10 iH4-SIP cards can be used with the Mosaic-SQ16 providing support for up to 40 displays and with the ability to position and size video overlay windows anywhere on the display wall.

VANTAGE SERIES
  The Vantage4 range of PCI graphics adapters offers users the ultimate solution for high specification video wall and data wall applications. The Vantage4 series provides the highest performance graphics processing combined with lower power operation allowing up to 16 cards in a single PC. In addition the Vantage 4-SIP the most robust of Datapath graphics card allows users to input HD Video into their video wall solution.
